PODCAST SHOW NOTES
A healthy relationship needs to be built upon a strong spiritual foundation. Below are my top three keys to help you prepare for a God-written love story or lay a strong foundation for your current or future relationship.
Key No. 1 — Make Christ Your First Love
Jesus Christ alone can meet the needs and desires of our heart. He intends us to find full satisfaction in Him. If the hope of marriage and family have taken first place your heart, surrender afresh to Jesus Christ.
Key No. 2 — Choose Surrender Over Selfishness
Our culture is focused on finding “the one” and there is a lot of pressure to find a guy for single women. Beware of placing personal happiness above God’s glory. The desire for a human love story is given to us by God, but when the pursuit of our own happiness becomes a higher priority than entrusting marriage dreams to God, we have strayed from a heart posture of surrender.
Key No. 3 — Receive God’s Restoration
God-scripted love stories are not just for those who have never compromised. The reason Christ laid His life down for ours is so that our souls could be washed clean and experience the future and the hope that He desires us to have. Repentance means turning and walking the other direction so once we awaken to the fact that there needs to be soul-change in our life, we can — by His enabling grace — confess, repent, and turn the other way. God gives us beauty for ashes.
