If you were to take a poll of today’s Christian women, you might be surprised to find that many of us struggle with the same issues. And while many of us would agree that God is to be our ultimate source of counsel, advice, and direction, it can be all too easy to succumb to the lies of the world and trendy pop-culture advice.
Now, more than ever, we need to cling to the fact that when we are going through a difficult time, the best decision we can make is to first open God’s Word and then allow Him to direct our hearts towards His truth for our specific situation. In reality, there is not a single unique or special situation that excuses us from heeding the wisdom of the Word.
COMMON STRUGGLES WOMEN FACE + BIBLICAL SOLUTIONS THAT SET FREE
1. INSECURITY
THE ENEMY’S LIE: Look inside yourself and find the beauty that lies within! Focus on building up your own self-esteem!
GOD’S TRUTH: We must decrease so that Jesus can increase in our lives. Freedom from self comes through surrender and turning outward.
Our concern shouldn’t be what others think of us, but what others think of Jesus.
2. LACK OF PURPOSE
THE ENEMY’S LIE:The only way to find true fulfillment and purpose is to do what makes you happy! Find what sparks your joy and go after it!
GOD’S TRUTH:The key to finding our purpose in this life is to embrace the poured-out life.
Remember, we are never too young, too old, or too busy to live a poured-out life!
3. CONFUSION
THE ENEMY’S LIE:Truth is relative. The only way to rid yourself of confusion is to dialogue about it without coming to a concrete, absolute truth about the situation.
GOD’S TRUTH:The biblical solution to confusion is to renew your mind. Lies must be renounced and Truth must be embraced.
Proclaim, reckon, and believe God’s truth.
4. LEGALISM
THE ENEMY’S LIE:The terms set-apartness, righteousness, and holiness should be avoided at all costs because it will lead you into legalism.
GOD’S TRUTH: The biblical answer to safeguarding your life against legalism is to build your life around a passionate, daily relationship with Jesus Christ.
Everything we do must be done out of an outflow of our love and devotion for Christ.
5. GOD FEELS DISTANT
THE ENEMY’S LIE:If God feels distant, just remember that God loves you as you are. Live how you want and God will still bless you.
GOD’S TRUTH:If God feels distant, seek Him with all of your heart. (See Jeremiah 29:13.)
Surrender is at the heart of enjoying intimacy with God.
FINAL THOUGHTS
No matter what our problems may be, we can always find an answer in the Word of God. We can search the culture for trendy answers, but God has promised that when we seek His wisdom diligently when we search for it as hidden treasure, we will find it. Seek answers in the Word of God!
