A House Divided
I have a royal fascination for … royals. Lords and ladies, kings and queens — I love good, old-fashioned pomp and circumstance. I was the girl who was enthralled with Anastasia in my growing up years, and I may or may not have all of Queen Victoria’s diaries downloaded on my Kindle. With a recent royal wedding, I refrained from setting my alarm early to catch the details, but I thoroughly enjoyed snippets of the ceremony later on … when I was intrigued by a detail in the ceremony that deeply resonated with me.
The Significance of Surrender
Join the Set Apart Team as we reminisce on moments of past surrender and clearly see the significance of how yielding to Jesus not only directs our immediate steps, but gives us bright hope for the future as He continues to faithfully unfold every detail of our lives.
Barracks 28, Part 1
Many years ago, Leslie and I were deeply moved by the story of Corrie and Betsie ten Boom in the book The Hiding Place. In one of the darkest places on earth — a German concentration camp called Ravensbrück — they found the beauty of Heaven through the incredible struggle and difficulty they faced there.
Hurtful Christians, Part 2
Corrie ten Boom once shared an amazing testimony about forgiving one of the cruelest guards in the concentration camp where her sister died. Because of God’s amazing grace, she was able to do what was impossible in her own strength.
Hurtful Christians, Part 1
It was a snowy day in January 1892 when Amy Carmichael put pen to paper in an attempt to express to her beloved mother that God was calling her to leave everything and pour out her life on a foreign mission field.
The Beauty of the Gospel
I came to believe in Christ’s work for me at the young age of seven.
219: Constant Surrender: Personal Life Lessons, Part 1
In Part Three of this series, Leslie explores two practicals ways we can cultivate Heavenly beauty in our daily lives – choosing truth over emotion and choosing freedom over shame.
214: Overcoming Excuses
Oswald Chambers said, “there is no condition of life in which we cannot abide in Jesus.” This statement is Biblical and true, but the enemy doesn’t want us to believe it.
