"Accept your loneliness. It is one stage, and only one stage, on a journey that brings you to God. It will not always last. Offer up your loneliness to God, as the little boy offered to Jesus his five loaves and two fishes. God can transform it for the good of others. Above all, do something for somebody else!" — Elisabeth Elliot

Leslie continues the Overcoming series with a powerful look at the story of Esther Ahn Kim — a Korean woman who suffered many years in prison for her faith. This amazing story reminds us that when we unreservedly take up our cross and follow Christ no matter the cost, the world can be radically and eternally changed. Our natural human tendency is to take the easy road of self-protection, and remain in our comfort zones. Esther’s life inspires us to embrace spiritual tenacity and joyfully suffer any hardship for the One who gave everything to us — through His enabling strength.Link in bio.

We must ask ourselves – are we more concerned with protecting our own comforts and interests than in consecrating our lives fully to Jesus Christ? The only way to be a true follower of Christ is to willingly give up everything; to take up our cross and follow Him. (See Matthew 10:38 and Luke 9:23.) When it comes to taking up our cross, let’s not wait for an extreme situation, but say “yes” to this calling in our daily, moment-by-moment lives. –Leslie

"Our prayer lives tend to show us what we really believe about the Lord. If we see Him as a small God, we will pray small prayers. If we believe that He is God over what seems impossible, then we will pray impossible prayers." – Dana Coleman

We don’t need to have special qualifications or

We don’t need to have special qualifications or skills to be overcomers. We simply need to make ourselves completely available to God. No matter what obstacles you are facing today, never forget the beautiful promise: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Rom. 8:37). –Leslie
