My pastor told us that we need to worship God with our lives all the time, instead of just living from one experience where we feel very close to God to the next … my question to you is how. How do I live in complete worship to God every day? How do I worship Him in everything I do?

Worship is a choice. It’s a decision to be made every minute of every day. But the heart of worship must stem from a correct view of God; He is supreme over all, He is good, He is sovereign, and thus worthy of being worshiped with every fiber of our being. With this foundational understanding of God, worship becomes a natural response of surrender.
As you live out “everything that I do,” worship must be a choice. You choose the actions and decisions that glorify God and exalt Him as King of kings. Practically, worship will look different in each individual’s life. There is no perfect formula or recipe for how exactly to worship God. There is no how-to chapter in the Bible or checklist to follow. It is the heart-attitude of loving God above everything, of holding Him as the highest authority in your life. No matter the noise of the world, you choose the action that worships Him. You choose the mindset of worship.

I’ve discovered that abiding in Jesus throughout the day is such a key to unlocking this kind of constant worship. Pray without ceasing, cry out, and talk to your Heavenly Father about everything and allow Him to trust you with His burdens. Capture ungrateful attitudes and do not give a foothold to the enemy by allowing negative thought patterns to take over and steal your joy.
Let thankfulness be your sacrifice unto Him and you will find songs of praise arising from within. Worship indeed is a lifestyle, rather than something we do on Sundays. It is acknowledging Him in everything you do and wanting to please Him with your life.
Let Him be the center of your life, the source of your joy. Continually be on guard and watchful of the weeds and thorns and pleasures of the world that are trying to choke the life of Christ out of you and get the fight out of you. If you fall, run back to His arms. Be sincere and real before God, allowing Him to point out the things in your heart that are not of His nature. He hates anything fake. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him. Make a pattern of meditating on His goodness and faithfulness at all times.
I’ve found sometimes I think that I want His presence in my life but my real behavior shows that I don’t. If I want His presence, I must allow the Master Gardener to cut off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit in me.
Only in complete surrender will you find yourself desiring His presence and free to worship Him with all of your heart.

I like to think of life with Jesus as a romance. That’s essentially what it is! The greatest Man in the universe loves us in the deepest way, and He asks for our love in return. His first request of us is that we love Him…and that we love everything that He loves. Because I’m in love, no one has to force me to spend time with Him. I make Jesus my highest treasure and worship Him by loving Him most. Worship is so much more than times of singing and emotional highs. It is a heart that adores and reveres Him, choosing Him first no matter how I may feel.
Every once in a while I sit down with my Bible and journal to reflect on what God has called me to, and measure my life against it. I ask, “Jesus, am I loving You in the way I spend my time? Am I caring for the things that are on Your heart? Am I bringing good news to the poor? Am I feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, rejoicing always?”
I worship God in the big and small things of life by loving Him with my whole heart.
